Inglenook Blancaneux (2015), Rutherford, Napa Valley 750 ML

A white Rhone-style blend of estate-grown Roussanne, Marsanne, and Viognier, Blancaneaux was created in 1999 as the partner to Rubicon, Inglenook’s Grand Vin. Produced in extremely limited quantities from the 6.5 acres of white grapes grown on the property at the base of Mt. St. John. In 2014 the matured vines were already over ten years old and the fruit shows more profuse aromas and flavors and richer textures as a result. Marsanne and Roussanne contribute body and minerality, while the Viognier brings an intense bouquet of tropical fruit and spices. Highly expressive. 2014 was more than 50% Viognier, bringing a heightened fragrance of exotic flavors that include pineapples and white peaches. Round in the mouth and almost bold in its delivery of aromatics, the wine exhibits a freshness from the ideal balance of natural acidity.
