Created in 2020, this pure malt expression is smooth and well-balanced, refined to showcase an exquisite balance between elegant softness and deep complexity along with rich mouthfeel and smokiness. This bottling honors Masataka Taketsuru, the father of Japanese whisky. He was the first Japanese to master whisky-making in Scotland, going on to create genuine whisky in Japan. Masataka learned that the natural resources surrounding a distillery were essential for quality whisky, and based on this understanding and his experiences with the whiskies of Scotland, he chose Yoichi and Miyagikyo to built his distilleries.
